TRAINING

Training

Sunrise Care places a strong emphasis on high‑quality training, recognising that well‑trained staff form the foundation of confident, proactive teams and, ultimately, better outcomes for the people we support.

All staff are required to complete a recognised and accredited training programme before beginning work in any of our services. This ensures a consistent standard of knowledge and practice across the organisation. Our managers are also required to complete the full suite of mandatory training prior to starting in their roles, enabling them to understand the content their teams have covered and to lead by example. Each year, both staff and managers complete the necessary refresher courses to maintain compliance and keep their skills up to date.

Beyond the mandatory training programme, we are committed to supporting ongoing professional development. Additional learning needs and opportunities are identified through regular supervision and appraisal meetings. These may include formal qualifications such as NVQs in Health and Social Care, but can also extend to specialist areas such as autism awareness, diet and nutrition, time management, leadership development, and more. Where staff express particular interests or development goals, we actively seek appropriate courses and encourage full engagement

We work closely with an accredited training provider to deliver a comprehensive and high‑quality training. This ensures our teams are equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and professional skills required to deliver safe, effective, and person‑centred care to all our customers.

Training

Sunrise Care takes training very seriously; well trained staff lead to confident and proactive teams, which in turn result in better outcomes for our customers.

All staff are required to complete a recognised and accredited training program before they start work in our services. This ensures that our staff are trained to the same standard across the organisation. Our managers are also required to complete our mandatory training before they start with us, so they are familiar with the training courses their teams have completed. Every year the staff and managers will complete the required refresher courses.

In addition to the standard mandatory training programme, other professional development opportunities will be identified through regular supervision and appraisal meetings. This will include NVQ qualifications in health and social care, but is not limited to this. Some staff may show a particular interest in autism, diet and nutrition, time management or leadership courses, to name just a few. We will always do our best to find appropriate courses and encourage staff to engage. We work with Skills for care and other training providers to put together a range of training programs to enhance the service we give to our customers.

Technology Training

We are fully committed to using digital platforms to streamline our internal processes, strengthen collaborative working, and enhance staff productivity. By embedding digital tools into the core of our operations, we have been able to work more efficiently, communicate more effectively, and maintain consistent oversight across our services. This improved way of working has had a direct and positive impact on the quality of care delivered to our customers, ensuring that support is responsive, well‑coordinated, and centred around each individual’s needs.

Daily Recordings
We use a digital platform to enable staff to record support tasks, observations, and achievements in real time, providing families and inspectors with clear, up‑to‑date evidence of each person’s progress. The system reinforces our core aim of promoting independence and everyday living skills. All staff are fully trained to use the platform, which is intuitive and easy to navigate.

Shift Management
We use a very intuitive and easy to use App, for staff to view their shifts and even swap shifts with their colleagues subject to the service managers approval.

Planning and managing annual leave
Staff are trained to use a HR App to request annual leave and view their holiday entitlement throughout the year.

Health & Safety
We are planning to train some staff on how to use an interactive system to record and complete health & safety tasks in all our services.
